To «Brokeback Mountain» του Ανγκ Λι είναι το ακλόνητο, άνευ αντιπάλου φαβορί για τα Όσκαρ Καλύτερης Ταινίας και Σκηνοθεσίας, ενώ προηγείται στις υποψηφιότητες (8). Από κει και πέρα όλα παίζονται.
Στην Aμερική όπου τα Όσκαρ ανεβάζουν και κατεβάζουν κυβερνήσεις (που λέει ο λόγος) με την ανακοίνωση των υποψηφιοτήτων, οδήγησαν τις πωλήσεις του DVD  της εκπληκτικής ταινίας Crash
σε μια ξέφρενη κούρσα ανόδου με 150 % αύξηση των πωλήσεων από την προηγούμενη των όσκαρ περίοδο. Περιττό φυσικά να τονίσουμε ότι παρεπιπτόντως η ταινία   εκεί (όπως κι εδώ άλλωστε) είχε πατώσει στα ταμεία του σινεμά. Mήπως ο κ. Mανιάτης της Σπέντζος πρέπει να σκεφτεί σοβαρά την περίπτωση της κυκλοφορίας της ταινίας σε sell thru;
